KNITLOOPWINTERKAL2020

WOW - it's been ages since the last blogpost. But now I'm coming around the corner with a really cool project. There will be a Winterkal this year. But stop - not just like any other winterkal. We are not just knitting ANYTHING together. I had in mind to knit something special with you. :)

Taking a design from Knitloop would be obvious, but that's exactly what we're not going to do. I was able to get two great designers interested in my idea and I'm really excited about your opinion. I have summarized everything for you (as short as possible).

WHICH DESIGNS ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

Design 'Chunky Dahlia ' Sweater from Lene Holme Samsøe

Design 'Mara Vest' from Paulastrickt

WHAT IS A 'KAL'?

A 'kal' is a knitalong. Many people are knitting on the same project, unfortunately only virtually at the moment, and exchange information in the form of posts, stories and contributions. Through the common hashtag #knitloopwinterkal2020 everyone can find each other's project.

WHEN EXACTLY DOES IT START?

Suitably to the winter we start the cal. on the 1st Advent, 29th November 2020, the end is 31.01.2021, but you can of course take your time.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone who knits one of the two designs mentioned above with Knitloop wool.

WHERE CAN I GET THE RIGHT WOOL?

I have created two reduced wool packs to match the sizes, so you don't have to search long for the amount. :) Just click on the name and you will be directed to the product.

You can also choose other yarn combinations (2-thread 100% SWEET ALPACA or 2-thread SILKY MOHAIR) for the Chunky Dahlia Sweater, but you must pay attention to the gauge and adjust the needle size.

If you want to choose a 2-thread version, we estimate the following yarn quantities:

M / L	5x	3x
XL / XXL	6x	4x

	SILKY MOHAIR

WHAT DO I HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO?

Since the pattern for the 'Chunky Dahlia' sweater are knitted with different wool than, you have to make a gauge. I found out that the needle size is lower than the one indicated in the instructions. This is important because otherwise the sweater would not fit later.

You see, I had several thoughts about our first Knitloopwinterkal2020. We have super beautiful designs out of wonderful wool to knit.
